PERPLEXITY

Observed Behavior

Perplexity is rather direct and relatively to the point. It doesn't have a strong personality. Little to no use of personal pronouns. It claims with infrequency its idea is the best, and doesn't praise every idea the user inputs. Informants found conversation lacking due to the models tone.

Operational Strengths

Perplexity is well known for including many of its sources in the response. It breaks its response into clear sections, differentiated with headers and a few paragraphs or bullet points in each section. Informants found this easy to digest as there were not overloaded with large blocks of text or lists upon lists of bullet points. There is enough variations in rhythm to make the responses more digestible.

Known Limitations

Tone may become stale when reading for extended periods of time. Responses often end in a question that doesn't leave much room to keep the conversation or interesting questions going. Informants found themselves frequently responding "yes" to the questions posed by the model at the end of the response without any other input from the informant.
